Google: Dark Mode Will Help Improve a Smartphone’s Battery Life

Who doesn't like the dark mode on his smartphone? According to Google, using dark mode will help improve smartphone's battery life. The revelation was made by Google at its Android Dev Summit 2018. Google highlights that as the brightness of a smartphone’s display increases, its power usage increases in a linear fashion. However, this increase in power usage can be offset by using a dark/night mode. As per studies conducted by Google, a smartphone will consume less power at maximum brightness while using dark or night mode. How less? Up to 63 percent.

Apple To Launch its first 5G iPhone in 2020 with an Intel Modem

Many wireless carriers are currently paying attention to 5G and it looks like that Apple is not ignoring it either.Turns out we may see Apple’s first 5G iPhone launch in 2020. That’s according to a new report from Fast Company, citing unnamed sources. According to the sources, Apple will be using Intel’s 8161 modem to facilitate the connection to 5G networks out there in the real world.

Apple’s Q4 2018: 46.9M iPhones, 9.7M iPads, $62.9B revenue

Apple has announced financial results for its fiscal 2018 fourth quarter ended September 29, 2018. The Company posted quarterly revenue of $62.9 billion, an increase of 20 percent from the year-ago quarter, and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $2.91, up 41 percent. International sales accounted for 61 percent of the quarter’s revenue.
