Earlier today Apple has released iOS 12.1.2 for iPhone which brings fixes for eSIM activation and cellular connectivity in Turkey. Seeded for developer testing a week ago, the iOS 12.1.2 update with
build number 16C101 is now commercially available as an over-the-air
update in Settings → General → Software Update.
It was unclear from Apple’s documentation at press time whether the iOS 12.1.2 update includes any software changes to circumvent Qualcomm patents in China as rumored.
The eSIM feature requires iPhones with an electronic SIM card that permits the works alongside the regular SIM card so customers can use two phone numbers simultaneously. eSIM is also used on cellular iPads.
